So, I took the holiday to kind of recharge my brain. It probably could do with an electrical shock if truth be told.
I mean, there comes a point where you say I’m tired of talking about losing teams, Yes, that means you Chiefs. Dumb ass athletes are on my list as well. Gilbert Arenas, you’re a prime candidate for this award. Drawing a gun in the locker room? Are you kidding me?
Tiger Woods is a category unto himself these days. He’s become a circus freak show, except he’s also become the invisible man. Elin on the other hand is hitting the European ski slopes, so we can see where this marriage is headed.
Mike Leach celebrated Christmas by losing his mind and his job at Texas Tech. Oh by the way Craig James, you and your son are no picnic either. If I’m a college football coach I don’t want James anywhere close to my campus to do a game. Remember James’s track record. He was an acclaimed player at SMU right before they got the get the death penalty in the 80’s. Never accused, but I’m just saying.
My holidays were spent watching it snow like crazy, enjoying having family all home and celebrating the New Year by laughing with friends as everyone discussed when they’d last smoked marijuana. Go see the movie, It’s Complicated and you’ll understand this discussion.
As I sit here with the new year full of promise, another snowstorm is coming our way, temperatures could get down to 20 below before the end of the week and I’m wondering why the hell I don’t live somewhere much farther south with a beach.
I’ve also decided despite the fact I’m a glass half full kind of guy, I’m tired of listening to athletes continually stupid actions on and off the field, owners who want to gouge fans and others whining about how tough they have it. Look, we all have it tough in our own way. Quit complaining, get to work and have a happy new year!
